Architect
Office Location: Sacramento, CA
We are looking for several experienced and talented Architects to join LDA Partners with the growth of our Sacramento office.
This is a great opportunity for an Architect seeking a long-term, leadership focused position with an established, award winning, mid-sized architectural firm with a new location in Mid-town Sacramento specializing in commercial, educational, and public facility design.
Architect Role and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Architect includes participating, coordinating, and overseeing the work of the design and engineering team of the project or task. The candidate will participate in all phases of the project including design meetings, charrettes, and drawing production to ensure the design intent is followed through in all phases.
The Architect will perform constructability reviews, feasibility studies, conceptual construction cost analysis, materials selection, building systems comparison/selection and other tasks as required to produce the building design. The candidate will also participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance and reconciliation including entitlement meetings, preliminary project reviews, architectural design review, public hearings, and community input sessions.
The candidate shall have a thorough understanding of contract documents and be able to perform construction administration and close-out services to produce a successful project. They will work with the Managing Principal Architects for project reviews with firm management on an ongoing basis.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Architect
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional architectural industry experience.
- Ability to receive mentorship from Principal Architects as well as mentor junior colleagues.
- Strong leadership abilities and motivation to seek new responsibilities and challenges within the firm and profession.
- Be familiar with and have a passion for the communities they serve.
- Strong understanding of construction assemblies and applications.
- Experience with Planning and Building department approvals and DSA approvals.
- Ability to set goals, meet schedules and self-manage time effectively. Understand the need to meet and maintain project schedules.
- Ability to lead a team of designers and engineers and understand the roles of all stakeholders
- Strong client interaction and relationship building skills. The ability to perform client service presentations and articulate our firm’s skills and experience.
- Perform coordination and constructability reviews.
- Strong project management skills and experience. The ability to oversee and manage projects in all phases from concept through closeout.
- Construction administration skills shall include addendums, spec writing, supplemental information, RFI responses, meeting minutes, etc.
- Commercial project management experience. Preferably pertaining to the following project types: Office buildings, tenant improvements, Education (Public School), Public Facilities, or Higher Education (College, University).
- Proficiency in the following programs: Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe apps, Microsoft Office products.
Preferred but not required Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture or closely related field.
- Certification from the GBCI such as LEED AP B+D or related credentials.
