Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Models for the residents, at all times, appropriate demeanor, self control, and behavior.
- Have knowledge of and ensure implementation of services to residents as appropriate.
- Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Model and reinforce appropriate daily life skills and healthy habits.
- Supervises residents in the residents’ self-administration of prescribed medication.
- Accompanies residents to and from daily activities as required.
- Provides transportation for residents as needed and/or required utilizing agency vehicles.
- Participates in the PQI process by assisting the organization to meet its quality improvement, evaluation, and reporting requirements; contributes to developing outcomes and indicators and setting targets; participates in the collection and interpretation of data; applies data to improve practices and outcomes; and uses program and client outcomes data to improve service delivery as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; internet software; spreadsheet software; and word processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certified in CPR/First Aid.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
Other Qualifications:
The person must be eligible for employment with WVCARES including CPS/APS background check. A candidate must be sensitive to the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the residents and of staff. Occasionally overnight travel is required. Training requirements and licenses, if any, must be kept current.
