Awareness of and willingness to collaborate with special education teacher and transition specialists to assist in planning and providing instruction, interventions and research based-support of students with disabilities ages 18 - 22. Knowledge of child development and skills to coordinate instruction with the primary special ed teacher and transition specialists.
Some examples of responsibilities to include:
- Orient students to internship site and provide on-site job coaching to help students develop work skills, appropriate work habits, and attitudes. Will make special work-site accommodations, when needed, to help students succeed.
- Assist Transition Specialist in the development and oversight of a school based
enterprise to allow students the opportunity to gain employability skills within the
high school setting.
- Assist classroom teacher with developing a curriculum to accompany the school-based enterprise program.
- Teaching remedial lessons to students
- Reinforcing lessons delivered by teacher
- Helping to grade student work and maintaining records including but not limited to tracking WBL hours and updating yearly career plans with each student involved in program.
Maintaining classroom routines.
