Job Title: Associate Director, Research and Education
Reports To: Director of Research and Education
Position Overview: Responsible for day-to-day operations of the PVA Research and Education Program. Provides the professional and technical expertise and leadership needed to manage and coordinate activities of the Education Foundation (EF) and Research Foundation (RF) in their grant-making programs as well as the Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine in the research, development, and dissemination of evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs), consumer guides and other publications.
Position responsibilities and duties:
- Coordinate the mission-driven activities of the PVA Education and Research Foundations
- Work with the Director of Research and Education to develop grant priorities and criteria for review by Foundation Boards.
- Coordinate meetings of the Foundations including preparation of the meeting materials and coordination of records.

Serve as liaison with a contractor to conduct peer review of grant applications and reports. Responsible for processing monthly billing and reporting.

Develop, implement, and evaluate an efficient and effective system for grant administration including grant tracking, communications with grantees, and coordination of grant payments.

Prepare articles for publication and develop presentations to promote the Foundations as assigned by the Director of Research and Education.

Develop and implement strategies to solve problems; including preparation of background papers, surveys, analysis of data, and convening of task forces.

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the development and dissemination of Clinical Practice Guidelines, consumer guides, and other clinical publications in coordination with the SCI Consortium.
- Liaison with Consortium member organizations and other organizations in the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and consumer guides

Provide coordination and cooperation with contracted services related to clinical practice guidelines development, publication, utilization, and training.

Serve as liaison with public and private agencies, organizations, and/or or ad hoc groups concerning research and education foundations,
- Work with the Director of Research and Education on Research and Education strategic planning, program development, evaluation, and budget planning.

Perform administrative duties relating to the mission of Research and Education and conduct special projects as assigned by the Director of Research and Education.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the healthcare-related field.
- Proven experience in project management, program administration, and evaluation.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of and experience in spinal cord injury rehabilitation preferred.

Ability to travel to meetings and events on behalf of PVA and the department.
