Who we need:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Press Brake Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating precision measuring instruments, fabricating sheet metal products, and ensuring high-quality results. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. What you will do:
- Prepare the brake press for operation by selecting the appropriate tooling, installing dies, and making necessary adjustments to ensure accurate bending, angles, and dimensions.
- Load and unload material to and from the press brake sometimes with assistance from a team member for heavier materials
- Use either an Accupress or Bystronic press brake to achieve the desired result as required by the customer
- Read blueprints and/or specifications to achieve precise bending.(must be able to read prints)
- Produce a blank, perform a layout and understand the principles of bend allowances
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, measuring tapes, gauges, etc
- Examine raw materials for defects or imperfections that could impact the bending process
- Select and Modify tooling, set dies and stop gauges, and adjust ram stroke for varying thicknesses of material
- Participate in quality control measures to ensure that products meet the highest standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Will advise and assist other team members when needed
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines very strictly
- Work in other areas and different departments operating other machines depending on business needs.
Qualifications:
- A positive attitude and the willingness to help where needed and learn from others
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator with strong technical skill
- Strong technical skills, including experience with plasma cutting, CNC programming, and precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with stamping presses and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand on cement for 8 or more hours per day.
- Arm and hand mobility
- Able to lift and move heavy materials up to 50 pounds intermittently.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or associate's degree preferred.
