Description:United States Seafoods is a Commercial Fishing Company with factory trawlers out of Alaska. We are looking for entry level and experienced crew members to work on board our vessels. We are looking for full-time, long-term employees who are willing to work a rotating schedule throughout the year.
United States Seafoods is currently recruiting for a qualified Oiler to work on one of our factory trawlers. A qualified Oiler should have Minimum of 1 year of experience working onboard marine vessels, with previous experience working in an engine room or a comparable mechanical background.
United States Seafoods fishes from January to November. Total crew size is 50 -70 crewmembers. Crew work on a rotational schedule with roughly 65+ days on/ 60 days off.

An Oiler will -*
- Clean lube oil & fuel oil centrifuges
- Fill factory S/W chlorinator and potable chlorinator tanks
- Maintain fresh & saltwater chlorinators and evaporator descaling chemicals
- Monitor fluid levels, pressures & temperatures for all operating systems onboard at predetermined intervals and record data in the ships logbook
- Look for leaking fluids, air & exhaust, chafing pipes, hoses, or wires, wipe up oil whenever possible and report any unusual circumstances to you supervisor. Keep the areas that you inspect clean & safe while doing the rounds
- Grease deck equipment
- Remove trash from all machine spaces
- Stock consumables, filters, rags, diapers, hand cleaner and the like
- Scrub machines, bulkheads, overheads & decks
- Follow safe working practices and wear required safety equipment that applies to the job performed
- Follow the Lockout Tag out program, you will be familiarized with this during your 1st trip.
- Work a 16 hour shift
- Work in the factory at times as need or as directed by the Chief Engineer
- Complete or perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief or Master
- Maintain tools and be responsible that they are stored in the correct locations
