We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the Saint Mary’s College admissions team as an Admission Counselor. This role is pivotal in helping shape the future of our student body and contributing to the ongoing success and vibrancy of our campus community.
Job Description
The Admission Counselor is responsible for the coordination of recruitment and admission efforts for prospective students. The Admission Counselor represents the College at both virtual and in-person high school visits, community college visits, college day/night events, open houses, and college fairs. The Admission Counselor will also contact and meet with prospective students, give admission presentations, review applications for admission, serve as a member of the Admission Committee, and occasionally give campus tours. The candidate will be a member of the admission marketing team and will work with marketing for both undergraduate and graduate student recruitment. In addition to their work with prospective undergraduate students, they will assist as needed with admission efforts related to graduate admission.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Spanish speaking language skills strongly preferred
- The ability to effectively communicate the value of a Catholic, residential, women’s college experience for prospective undergraduate students
- Must be willing to travel to areas around the country for recruitment of prospective students and families
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including written and oral skills. Must be comfortable speaking one-on-one with students, parents, alumnae, and guidance counselors; as well as making presentations to small and large groups
- Must be comfortable making phone contacts with students, parents and guidance counselors during all stages of the admission and financial aid process
- Must possess strong writing and editing skills and be willing to think outside the box when developing marketing content
- Must possess extraordinary organizational and multitasking skills; must be comfortable traveling alone to new cities, have a good sense of direction, possess the ability to read maps and navigate from location to location in unknown environments
- Must be willing to work odd hours such as weekends and evenings.
- The successful candidate will be creative, possess a high degree of energy, and have the ability to work as a team member in an enrollment management setting
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and google docs, including a solid understanding of spreadsheets, and a willingness and ability to learn new systems and databases
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, clear a criminal background and moving violation check, be willing to travel outside of the immediate area and work after regular office hours, including weekends and evenings as needed
Schedule
40 Hours/ 12 Months/ Monday – Friday
