Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Subsea Lead is to develop, refine, and communicate/present/defend accurate, comprehensive, cost-effective scopes of work for Reactivations and Out of Service projects, both actual and speculative.
These scopes must put the rig in the position to comply with all contractual, regulatory, regional and internal company specifications.
In this role, the Subsea Lead is responsible for all aspects of the scope, to include a detailed cost estimate and compliance with the corporate Stage Gate Manual.
Development of these scopes requires significant networking with Engineering, Technical Field Support, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain inside the organization, as well as external entities to include shipyards, OEMs, vendors, regulatory agencies, and classification societies. Workpacks and associated procedures are the main deliverables from the planning lead to the execution lead therefor this is the key deliverable from the individual.
Scope development also requires significant experiential knowledge of subsea equipment, vendor performance history, likely areas of failure, and vendor capabilities.
Travel to worksites, both on and offshore, will be required and may be up to 40% per year and if required individual must be willing and capable to oversee the execution of the scope, during the Project Execution phase.
Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of project planning for Subsea systems and equipment to include scope identification, scope definition, cost estimation, and work pack development.

Development of work packs and procedures for handover to Project Execution.

Coordinate with and supervise OEM’s and 3rd party contributors to conduct surveys, site visits, vendor surveillance, off-site planning

Attend rigs, shipyards, worksites, vendor facilities as required for surveys in support of project planning activities

Coordinate with OEM’s and 3rd party contributors in project estimating activities and cost reduction techniques

Develop and maintain dialog and interface with internal engineering stakeholders for scope validation

Plan and track project procurements with project managers and internal purchasing departments

Actively contribute to Marketing Bid Support efforts by providing well developed work scopes and accurate cost estimates as required during the production of Project Cost Workbooks and Reactivation Cost Workbooks.

Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with operations teams relevant to the assigned projects
Education:
Experience:
-
Minimum 10 years relevant work experience with an offshore drilling contractor or major subsea equipment manufacturer.
Skills:
-
Offshore or Marine Project experience is preferred.

Good knowledge of project management techniques including planning, budget control, contract administration and resource management are a plus. Ability to produce accurate project cost estimates within a compressed timeline.

Excellent organizational, time management, workload prioritization, critical thinking skills.

Ability to deal with frequent change and manage competing demands.

Ability to perform under pressure and deliver a quality work product.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills. This position requires the individual to cultivate and maintain a broad network of resources in order to be successful.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, with particular focus on Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills are preferred. Able to read and understand MODU technical documentation including General Arrangement Drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Structural Drawings, and Electrical Schematics, Functional and Detailed Vessel and Equipment Specifications. Must have a strong sense of accountability and be capable of maintaining a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in corporate offices as well as at worksite locations such as onboard rigs and in shipyards worldwide. The Project Lead may be required to work more than 40 hours per week, including weekends.
