Geotechnologies, Inc. is a geotechnical engineering consulting firm offering geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and testing and inspection services in the Greater Los Angeles Area for over 50 years. In that time, the firm has been involved with over 22,000 Southern California projects for a wide spectrum of clients, including private developers, entertainment industry, higher education institutions, and public municipalities. Projects include low-rise to high rise commercial and mixed-use residential buildings, master planning, studios and sound stages, medical and research facilities, museums, sports arenas, and educational buildings.
We are currently seeking for a full-time, mid-level to senior-level, licensed professional engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, and conducting site investigations;
- Performing data gathering and analyses;
- Keeping abreast of state and local codes and regulations;
- Identifying and applying sound technical expertise to service our clients;
- Working closely with project managers to deliver projects on schedule and on budget;
- Preparing design-level technical reports;
- Maintaining client relations and assisting in business development;
- Supervising, mentoring, and training of staff engineers and field technicians.
Qualifications and Licenses:
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology;
- Possession of Professional Engineer License in the State of California is a must;
- Possession of Geotechnical Engineer License is preferred;
- At least 10 years of geotechnical engineering consulting experience in the Greater Los Angeles area, and 5 years of responsible charge professional consulting experience as a licensed engineer;
- Los Angeles Deputy Grading Inspector License a plus.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Possess strong fundamental understanding of geotechnical engineering theories and practice;
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Possess robust experience in geotechnical analyses methods including liquefaction analysis, slope stability analysis, pile foundation analysis, retaining wall design, shoring and tie-back design, and construction field testing;
- Have strong written communication skills and ability to prepare technical reports and proposals;
- Have strong oral skills to communicate and resolve technical issues with clients and contractors;
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently;
- Must be professional, organized, and detail oriented;
- Have ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time;
- Have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel;
- Have a working knowledge of RSPile, Settle3, and Slide,
- Knowledge of other Geotechnical Engineering related softwares a plus.
