McKinley Surgery Center is actively searching for a nurse manager to lead staff in day to day operations. The Nurse Manager will continue the development of this growing business, and quality improvement and accreditation. In addition to this, you’ll have numerous opportunities for continued clinical development, growing your skills along with the staff’s ability. The ideal candidate will have experience leading nurses in an ambulatory surgery setting.
This role is responsible for:
· The overall directing of clinical and personnel operations to achieve the long-range and short-range goals and objectives of the organization as determined by the Governing Body.
· The daily administration and leadership of the Surgery Center.
· The directing, coordinating and controlling all aspects of clinical management, inventory management, facility maintenance, surgical services, patient relations and staff; and safety of all patients.
· Management of expenses to help earn a profit for the ASC.
· The fostering of positive work relationships and serving as a liaison between the Management, medical staff, employees in all departments of the center.
· The demonstration of the primary goals of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer/patient expectations; and improving clinical and financial operations.
· Assist in growing the services and revenue of the ASC with either new doctors and/or new services.
· Demonstrates the ability to direct and provide for patient care in emergency situations.
· Demonstrates the ability to make decisions concerning Center based problems.
· Participates in the orientation of nursing and ancillary staff as requested.
· Participates in developing standardized patient education programs.
· Participates in Quality Improvement activities including identification of opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies.
· Works to achieve and maintain regulatory certification and accreditation of the Center.
· Maintains competencies to function in RN role within specific area. (Ex. OR circulator – Identification, counting and care of instrumentation and sponges, skin preparation of surgical site).
· Serve as a role model and mentor, providing direction and leadership to other staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare practices.
· Management experience preferred but not required.
· Knowledge and understanding of the standards, regulations and laws affection Ambulatory Surgery Center operation. Understanding of AAAHC and accreditation standards.
· Clinical RN background is required. This role will need to participate in patient care areas. This is not a desk job, strong clinical skills and willingness to lead a team.
· Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and budget development. Fiscal responsibility a must.
· Must have knowledge of CMS Surveys and survey preparation.
