About This Position
We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our team in the North America Region Shared Services Center. The Shared Services Center supports HOERBIGER Business Units located in the United States and Canada.
The Tax Manager is a single contributor position responsible for overseeing the tax aspects of the HOERBIGER North America entities. This position serves as a regional expert in tax issues (in close cooperation with the HOERBIGER global tax function) – both on a strategic and an operational (tax compliance and income tax accounting) level.
This is a full-time, remote position which joins a supportive work environment and includes an excellent benefits package. Successful candidate should reside in the Florida area to be available for periodic in-office training and meetings.
Responsibilities
Compliance
- Prepare and file timely US and Canadian corporate tax filings (consolidated federal, state, and provincial) in coordination with external tax advisor.
- Oversee and review foreign affiliate tax filings (eg, Form 5471s/5472s/8858s).
- Prepare calculation for FTC, GILTI, Subpart F, and FDII
- Prepare calculation of the estimated quarterly tax payments.
Tax Provisions
- Monthly review of six US entities and one Canadian entity’s tax calculations and related workpapers.
- Prepare full tax provision for hard close audit in November and year-end and audit in January for proper accounting of current and deferred taxes.
Special Tax Projects
- Identify tax savings opportunities for ways to reduce effective tax rate.
- Oversee and monitor compliance in indirect tax areas (sales tax, withholding taxes, etc).
- Participate in international tax research and planning projects, including acquisitions and restructuring.
- Automate the tax provision and tax compliance processes.
- Prepare and submit various Federal Surveys as requested by various US agencies to report activity with the US's related parties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a preference for a Master’s degree in Accounting
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience (5+ years) at a national CPA tax firm
- Experienced with Federal State and local tax compliance for large corporations.
- Experience with foreign compliance including Forms 1118, 8858, 5471, and 5472
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws, as well as an understanding of global manufacturing and service business
- Proficiency in the use of SAP and SAGE Fixed Asset software
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear tax guidance, coach and align with management, other functions, and Corporate headquarters
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work with people from different cultures is critical
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
