Job Description:
Maintains, repairs, and installs heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) systems and associated components. Maintains, repairs, services and installs packaged AC units, mini-split systems, ice machines, walk-in/reach-in freezers and coolers and similar commercial kitchen equipment.
- Maintains, repairs and installs, high and low-pressure piping and associated devices on heating systems.
- Draws samples of boiler & chiller water loops and sends off for required chemical analysis.
- Once testing is complete, treats system with appropriate chemicals to ensure optimum operation and maximum longevity of system under test.
- Uses knowledge of electronics and schematics to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of control systems.
- Performs necessary and essential electrical work required to maintain and operate heating and air conditioning systems.
- Maintains, repairs, and installs heat pumps of various tonnage, forced air, and other related equipment.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs air compressors & mister system pumps.
- Becomes knowledgeable in and utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Performs other related duties associated to the job classification.
Payrate: $24.78 Hourly
Job Requirements:
- May work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and/or carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces, depending on specific work site. May be periodically exposed to small spaces, hot and cold temperatures, and inclement weather conditions, or other work conditions determined by nature of work.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
- EPA 608 Universal Technician Certification (CFCs and HFCs).
- One years’ verifiable experience as an HVAC technician.
- General knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Team player; ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English to an eighth grade level for a working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings, as per contract requirement.
- Federal Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Must possess one or more of the following certifications:
- North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVAC Service Technician Certification
- HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification
- UA Star HVAC Mastery Certification
- Experience in maintenance and repair on BAS, EMS, and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) systems.
