Ponte Vineyard Inn is a Four Diamond, 90 room boutique hotel located next to Ponte Winery. We are surrounded by 300 acres of mature vineyards and views of rolling hills. We are a short drive from most of Southern California and enjoy hosting folks who want a break from city life. Our guests visit us seeking a relaxing day or overnight stay in the country.

Summary:
The Hotel Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling hotel accounts to ensure that all financial transactions are accounted for accurately and timely. Reports financial information and discrepancies to hotel management and Controller. This is an overnight shift.
Compensation: $22.75 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain a presence in the lobby and greet guests promptly and warmly. Direct guests appropriately and offer assistance where needed.

Act as a guest liaison providing prompt and courteous service that exceeds the guests’ expectations.

Make dining reservations, procure tickets to local or hotel events and assist with travel arrangements as requested by guests.

Register guests and assign rooms upon guest’s arrival including handling of cash, credit and check transactions.

Processing account adjustments and check-out guests as guests depart.

Be familiar with hotel information necessary to enhance customer satisfaction including rate structures, specials and restrictions, types of rooms and suites available, and hotel services including costs and location.

Be familiar with daily property events as well as area events and be able to confidently inform guests of these activities.

Research and resolve any un-posted tickets or reservation transactions from the day shift.

Audit the shift closing from the front desk personnel to ensure accuracy of transactions and reporting.

Follow all procedures to properly handle all cash transactions.

Review daily transactions in all systems and ensure totals match payments received.

Review discrepancies and resolve them to the best of your capability and contact and involve Hotel Management as needed.

Audit Wine POS in Sundry Store and roll business date at designated time

Review potential No-Shows and handle appropriately
-
Prepare guest ledger reports as requested by management.

Communicate all variances or questionable activity to the controller and hotel manager.
-
Ensure quiet hours’ policy is being followed by all guests. Investigate noise complaints and resolve quickly

Be familiar with hotel security procedures in the absence of the manager or security

Be familiar with hotel emergency procedures, and provide calm, reassuring assistance to guests and fellow associates in the event of an emergency.

Prepare coffee station in hotel lobby

Place daily newspapers in hotel lobby

Process account adjustments and check-out guests as they depart

Reconcile outstanding balances on guest accounts. Maintain log of credits that need to be applied.

Be consistently professional in all of your communication: verbal, written and non-verbal.

Resolve guest complaints and concerns by acting as the manager on duty referring to management as needed

Be familiar with guest incident report procedures
-
Maintain detailed pass down communication for management and incoming shift.
-
Answer telephones with a smile, taking reservations, and handling messages for guests.

Greet guests with a smile and be familiar with hotel information necessary to enhance guest satisfaction including rate structures, specials and restrictions, types of rooms and suites available, and hotel services including costs and location.

Monitor cleanliness and appearance of hotel lobby and Sundry Store.

Perform any additional duties as requested by Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have a minimum of one year experience in customer service position preferably hotel experience.

Must have excellent communication skills.

Must have exceptional grooming standards that are consistent with company guidelines.

Must be outgoing and able to approach guests and initiate conversation.

Must have basic computer knowledge specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-
Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math sills, and analysis capabilities required.

Has attention to detail and the ability to follow direction and abide by standard operating procedures.

Ability to focus for an entire shift, troubleshooting and prioritizing skills.

Experience with the following software preferred but not required: Shift4, Webrez Pro and Micros
