Overview:
PDF Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: PDFS) is seeking a R&D Engineer or Senior Systems Engineer to join the R&D team to develop a cutting edge electron beam inspection tool (eProbe®). These tools are based on high-speed Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) and are used at semiconductor fabs for yield ramp and manufacturing control. This is a core part of PDF’s Design-for-Inspection™ (DFI) methodology.
The candidate should be self-motivated and comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment.
He or she should have strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to solve problems. The main goal is to improve system performance and throughput by solving a variety of technical challenges. These challenges can range from identifying and characterizing physical phenomena (e.g. residual magnetic fields deflecting the electron beam) to developing new software algorithms or novel techniques and methods to improve the system.

Responsibilities:
- Work independently to solve problems and find innovative solutions

Design and perform experiments, analyze data and present results

Write prototypes to demonstrate newly developed algorithms

Create, manage and deploy system performance test

Lead projects from start to finish. From identifying a problem or suggesting a new method to prove of concept and final implementation.

Coordinate and work with software, application, manufacturing, engineering and outside consultants
Qualifications:
- Master Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields

PhD (can be recent graduate) or experienced R&D or Systems Engineer

Experience in data collection and data analysis

Basic LabVIEW experience
Plus:

Knowledge base or experience with hardware engineering (motion, light optics, e-beam optics, ultra-high vacuum, analog power supplies, High Voltage power supplies)

Experience with LabVIEW

Coding experience e.g. Python, C, or C++

Experience in Data Analysis and visualization packages (JUMP, SPLUS, Spotfire)

Knowledge base or experience in semiconductor manufacturing or electron microscopes
Pay Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
