Job Summary
Provides support services and/or exceptional education technical assistance to school-based staff. Provides input in specific exceptional student categories and assistance in development of products, program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Essential Functions
1. Maintains successful and continuous communication with school personnel and administrators regarding Exceptional Student Education matters.
2. Supports assigned schools through observing the teaching/learning process, provide support and/or technical assistance as appropriate and facilitate eligibility determination process.
3. Assists in development and/or revision of school procedures for exceptional student programs; participates in common planning; development of program curriculum; and development of needs assessments; participates in school-based collaborative problem solving team.
4. Provides information and recommendations to school staff regarding instructional materials, equipment, and curriculum.
5. Provides assistance related to computerized IEP program and IEP development and compliance.
6. Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and delivery of services.
7. Disseminates information to teachers regarding research findings and practices in exceptional student education.
8. Develops and maintains appropriate program records and data.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
