What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a Carpenter to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction project that requires exceptional talent. The product portfolio is expanding with never-built-before production lines, and requirements demand cell production volume at a scale which was once thought to be impossible to reach. Our environment is fast-paced and incredibly exciting. Required commitment is that you bring in your passion for advancing energy sustainability, your desire to work on difficult problems pushing the limits, your willingness to value team success beyond your own, and your unwavering positive attitude towards sustained hard work. The position is in Sparks, NV.
What You’ll Do
- Minimum 5+ years verifiable experience as a Journeyman Carpenter (applicants with less than 5 years will be assessed for experience level and be considered)
- The ability to read and understand drawings and specifications as well as to contribute to creating as-built drawings
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety with ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying hazards
- Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people
- Extensive knowledge in using hand and power tools
- The ability to think outside the box and find innovative solutions
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks
- Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed
- Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required
- Lead the execution of small construction projects
- Communicate schedule estimates, progress, and impacts
- Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts and forklifts
- OSHA - 10
