About the Position:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work with the Franklin Engineering team to complete a wide variety of design projects to support our clients. You will work with engineers of different disciplines to deliver quality designs to support our clients’ success. You will interact with clients, contractors and vendors during the design process, all the way through project construction and startup. The successful candidate should be motivated and able to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Be integral member of the design team
- Interact with other disciplines during design
- Participate in design reviews and conceptual development
- Review and apply codes and standards
- Review and apply client design specifications for fabricated equipment and construction
- Sizing and selection of third-party equipment (valves, instruments, pumps, exchangers, solids handling equipment, conveyors, automatic feeders, robotics, etc.)
- Sizing and design of fabricated equipment (tanks, reactors, exchangers, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, sensors, motors, etc.)
- Design of custom equipment and machines
- Generation of technical specifications and fabrication drawings
- Review drawings
- Compile design packages for submission to Client
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Completed and passed FE/EIT exam, preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Current PE or working toward testing
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Technical proficiency in Solidworks design software
- Working knowledge of standard manufacturing processes
