Established dental practice in Hixson, TN, is searching for a friendly and motivated dental assistant to help us grow our practice. Candidate should be positive and upbeat, have a detailed and organized work ethic, and understand the importance of the patient experience.
As a dental assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting our dentist and dental hygienists in providing exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties to ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient care, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and materials.
- Take digital dental X-rays under the direction of the dentist.
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, including suctioning and passing instruments.
- Educate patients about oral hygiene practices and provide post-treatment care instructions.
- Perform basic dental procedures, such as fabricate temporary crowns, take impressions, applying sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment reminders to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as billing and ordering dental supplies.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care and enhance the patient experience.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or relevant work experience.
- Current certification in dental radiography, nitrous oxide monitoring and coronal polishing.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
- Proficiency in taking and developing dental X-rays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic dental practice.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Knowledge of dental software and electronic health records systems is a plus.
Experience with intraoral scanning, dental photography, Open Dental are a plus!
