AR/AP Manager
The AR/AP Manager is responsible for managing both the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions of the company. This position may delegate and oversee an accounting clerk or assistant. The AR/AP Manager coordinates with the Controller and the Sales Staff to ensure timely invoicing, collection, receiving purchase orders, and posting processing vendor invoices. A comprehensive understanding of accounting principles is essential.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable Management
- Generates and sends invoices to customers promptly after order has shipped
- Resolve billing and customer credit issues
- Ensuring that accounts receivable records are accurate and match the customer's accounts
- Working closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and improve the invoicing process
- Accounts Payable Management
- Ensure vendor invoices are received and processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers and resolve discrepancies
- Recording payments in the accounting system.
- Monitor aging reports and manage the collection efforts to minimize overdue accounts
- Prepare regular reports on receivables status and performance metrics
- Evaluating and approving credit terms for new and existing customers, and managing credit limits
- Collects on past due accounts by contacting customers to ensure timely payment
- Process all inventory transactions including coil processing and adjustments
- Administer inventory cycle counts and assist with reconciliation and adjustment
- Confirm all sales order requirements including customer tax status, obtaining project information forms, and verifying account status before production is realized
- Ensuring that all AR processes comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in AR/AP management or a similar role
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent Customer Service is a must
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
- Ability multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently is required
