Essential Speech and ABA Therapy is a rapidly growing private therapy program for young children with Autism. With locations in Katy, Missouri City, and Pearland, we offer Speech, ABA, and Occupational Therapy all under one roof!
We are looking for RBT Certified individuals with pediatric ABA experience to join our team as an Assistant Trainer! This senior-level RBT will be responsible for the following:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure New BTs and RBTs are fully trained during New Hire Training
- Support and track BTs progress to ensure that they obtain their RBT certification within 90 days of hire. This includes:
- Providing ongoing clinical training and feedback
- Completing 40 hour training within the specified time frame
- Completing Competency Assessments
- Creation of study guide(s)/ study materials
- Maintaining an updated spreadsheet/tracker with each therapist’s RBT #, NPI Number, where they are at in the certification process (if applicable)
- Create and proctor mock exam(s)
- Assisting RBT’s with exam signups
- Collaborate with the lead therapist(s) and BCBA(s) to ensure proper training is implemented and completed
- Use clinical judgment to assess situations in training
- Assess when BTs are having difficulties with a client and/or need further training
- Assess when BTs are having difficulties preparing for their RBT exam, and provide support accordingly
- Assess when BTs need competency study guides to take their RBT competency assessment
- When BCBA changes a client’s procedures, the assistant trainer is expected to learn, implement, and train on those procedures
- Go over with each staff strengths and weaknesses, and provide feedback for improvement
- Follow up training for all staff to ensure that all team members meet clinical expectations consistently
- Direct 1:1 Therapy with Clients when necessary
- Provide consistent training and on the floor support to ensure that all team members understand and are accurately implementing clients’ specific treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff regarding training, support, questions, and concerns
- Create and implement programming for social and circle times
- Assist with the creation and modification of treatment plans
- Create and post weekly schedule by Thursday the week prior
- Add/adjust blocks on CentralReach
- Review schedules daily for overlaps/unconverted appointments
- Other tasks as assigned
