- To perform Value Analysis and Value Engineering activities for downhole drilling and MLWD tools.
- To review cost reduction recommendations and provide engineering assessment and implementation plan.
- To investigate and propose engineering solutions to address field and manufacturing issues on downhole assemblies.
- Technical Review of the proposed solutions.
- Perform stack-up analysis, engineering hand calculations.
- Using Structural Analysis, GD&T, Threads Calculations, Erosion Calculations, Materials and Secondary Processes, Static and Dynamic Seal Applications, analyze and provide solutions to various design issues.
- Develops repair/rework plan to salvage/upgrade components.
- Review use of standard materials for various applications. Investigates use of alternate materials.
- To create appropriate test plans to evaluate new design / design changes and coordinate with testing facilities.
- Update BOM in PDM system to implement the design changes.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- 5+ years of product development experience, specifically in the component design area.
- High pressure seal design (static, dynamic) experience is a must.
- Experience in test fixture design, test plan setup, test report preparation is a must.
- Strong handle on mechanical engineering concepts such as GD&T, Threads Calculations, Erosion Calculations, Materials and Secondary Processes.
- Stackup (Radial and linear) analysis and engineering calculations.
- GD&T knowledge and application
- CAD (SolidWorks) modelling and drafting.
- Experience working with a PDM system.
- Familiar with FEA (ANSYS)
Desired Skills:
- AUTOCAD Mechanical
- Familiar with MATLAB and its applications
