Job Title: Security & Loss Prevention Officer
Pay: $19/hour
Shift: 11 PM to 7AM
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, and threats to life and property. Effectively control the movement of people, vehicles, materials, and equipment entering or leaving the security area through the access control points.

All Security/Loss Prevention Officers are trained to fulfill the duties of either the Front Gate Officer or the Roving Officer. Many duties are shared between the two roles.
Front Gate Duties
· Monitor and control vehicles entering and leaving the building
· Provide access control through the use of Building Link Portal, written authorizations, or verbal authorizations provided by Unit Owners and/or Management
· Contact unit owners to advise of guest arrival to the property
· Work together with the Association Administrative Assistant to determine contractor access privileges
· Conduct daily inspections on the CCTV Network Recording Units. Ability to check video footage, capture and retain video and properly use the NVR and VMS.
Rover Duties
· Conduct routine patrols of the entire facility by foot including all corridors, stairwells, public spaces, exterior grounds, and parking areas.
· Actively identifies safety hazards and breaches of security and communicate these hazards immediately to the appropriate departments.
· Conduct routine inspection of fire equipment in all areas of the building/grounds.
· Ensure that all storage areas, offices, public space areas, and entrances to the building are secured and locked as necessary.
· Random checks to be done on CCTV Network Recording Units. Ability to check video footage, capture and retain video and properly use the NVR. and VMS
· Investigate all disturbances, accidents, and guest and employee injuries.
· Monitor and control packages and other items entering and leaving the building through the issuing of package passes and baggage checks.
Share Duties
· Respond immediately to all emergency situations including fires, power failures, medical, and threats.
· Monitor and facilitate Fire Panel Operation, emergency announcements, and evacuation procedures, and the designated emergency rally point.
· Maintain awareness of all pertinent information regarding property personnel and residents.
· Participates in the safety program by ensuring that maintenance and inspection of first aid equipment, AED, fire equipment, and other safety-related equipment are conducted on a routine basis as prescribed.
· Aid during an investigation of all disturbances, accidents, and guest and employee injuries.
· Administer First Aid, CPR, and AED to residents and employees when appropriate according to OSHA laws and regulations and complete an Accident/Incident Report to the Director of Operations in a timely fashion.
· Accurately compile all appropriate loss prevention reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Responsible for issuing a variety of keys to authorized personnel and maintaining a key log to record their usage and inventory.
· Initiates reports involving lost and found items and takes items into custody; returns items to owners.
· Monitor all vendors, visitors, and employees entering and leaving the facilities.
· Do not give out resident information to anyone.
· Inventories and controls all Security supplies and equipment.
· Maintain courteous communication with the residents, applicants, and representatives of other companies.
· It is the responsibility of the Loss Prevention Officer to know and adhere to all federal, state, and local laws.
· Adhere to all written mandatory standards of operations, policies, and procedures, manuals, memos, and oral instructions, all of which make up the essential functions of the job.
· Handles paging and two-way radio communications as necessary and follows strict radio verbiage and radio etiquette.
· Maintains master records of pertinent property telephone numbers, including key staffers' home phone numbers.
· Advises property's Director of Operations of any abuses by staff of calls placed or received
· Ensures telephone, paging, and facsimile equipment remains operable and handles correction of breakdowns when necessary.
· Assures that residents/callers feel special through the use of an enthusiastic tone of voice, courtesy, and professionalism.
· Maintains current information on how to assist residents and guests with requests they may have.
· Supervises the proper registration and departure of residents’ guests.
· Complies with all accounting procedures related to Security.
· Be aware of property Association’s goals relative to resident satisfaction and resident retention and ensure that you do your part towards meeting them.
· Effectively trained in the basic Concierge and Receiving procedures.
· Attend to all residents' and guests’ needs for information and handling of special requests in a courteous and efficient manner.
· Communicate effectively with the Management Office, Concierge, Engineering, Valet, Housekeeping, and Club services to ensure all requests are handled appropriately.
· Assist in matters related to move-ins and buildouts for residents.
· Keep abreast of all in-house functions and special promotions, local events, and special attractions.
· Establish and maintain logs and records for guest services and requests according to the property’s standard operating procedures.
· Inform the property Director of Operations and Loss Prevention Manager of any problems that arise.
· Liaise with all other department staffers concerning daily programming and scheduling.
· Adheres to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to property policies.
· Maintain exceptional resident and guest relations and facilities by creating a quality environment through effective staffing, programming, service operations and maintenance.
· Ensures that resident and guest service is maintained at or above levels and that criticisms are dealt with in a professional, expedient and positive manner.
· Make use of personal contact with residents as a means of gathering feedback.
· Consistently models behavior that is commensurate with the property Association's values and service principles.
· Demonstrates respect, sensitivity and concern for residents’ and guests’ needs in a professional manner and recognition of each resident and guest during their stay at the property.
· Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.
· Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the property’s facilities.
· Must wear the property's designed uniform at all times, as mandated in the Employee Handbook.
· Support company and department goals of continuous improvement and learning by attending courses provided by the property.
· Perform tasks in a team-based environment.
· Professionally represent the property at all times during shifts and/or when on property grounds for job-related issues.
· Maintain property appearance criteria at all times.
· Must be able to complete assigned priority patrol, including intercom checks, emergency stairwells and service corridor inspections, storage room inspections, and elevator panel inspections.

· Ability to remember names and faces of residents.
· Ability to work independently and willingness to learn. Ability to follow directions from superiors and residents. Discipline to always remain calm, polite, and in control. Ability to keep accurate records.
· Excellent reading, writing, and communications skills. Be able to ensure all deadlines are met.
· Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each team member perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to assist others when the occasion arises. Accordingly, this individual may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
· Ability to multi-task between resident requests, operational issues, and team member needs.
· Must be able to work at a rapid pace, while maintaining attention to detail.
· Due to the cyclical nature of the industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the needs of the property. In addition, attendance at all scheduled skill development sessions and departmental meetings is required. Must be dependable and flexible with schedule changes.

· Able to handle stress arising from operations.
· Able to work independently and exercise judgment to resolve personnel and production issues that arise during daily operations.

· Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day. The length of time of these tasks may vary.

DESIRABLE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & SKILLS:
· One to three years of security experience in a luxury property, resort, private Club, or establishment is required
· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
· Basic computer proficiency
· D- Class License is a plus
