As the Business Director, this person will generally oversee staff in the administration department (general accounting, AP, AR, Payroll). In addition, this person will directly see to the following tasks:
General oversight of company financials-
- a) Review monthly financial reports including balance sheet, P&L, staff chargeability, accounts receivable.
- b) Evaluate financial performance by clients, sectors, and staff.
- c) Provide recommendations to the president for improvements in financial performance.
Contracts-
- a) Review proposed client contracts and negotiate terms.
- b) Work with project managers to see that projects are current on contracts and change orders.
Company systems-
- a) Oversee work-flow systems.
- b) Provide recommendations to the president for updates and additions to work-flow systems.
Marketing-
- a) Monitor public Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- b) Identify potential marketing sectors.
- c) Develop and oversee preparation of marketing materials.
The application shall be familiar with general business operations of an architectural/engineering company. The applicant will have prior experience in a managing role and have exceptional oral and written skills. Because the position is anticipated to be part-time, the company is open to arranging flexible work hours. However, a presence in the office 4 days per week is desirable. This position reports directly to the company president.
