The Data Center Operations (Headend) Regional Manager is responsible for the management of our Data Center Operations (Headend) Technicians and our critical infrastructure sites which include the Headend, Data Center, and Hub sites located within their assigned region. This position is responsible for the operational reliability of our infrastructure sites, management of project tasks, management of our vendors and contractors, and the evolution of our processes, infrastructure sites, technologies, and the team.

Manages, assigns and prioritizes projects, tasks and work performed by Data Center Operations (Headend) Technicians.

Ensures high reliability and availability of backup power and cooling infrastructure at Headend and Datacenter sites.

Manages incidents affecting power and cooling infrastructure at Headend and Data Center sites.

Meets with business owners to ensure that our work priorities align with business strategies and enabling their success.

Develops best practices using industry models such as Lean IT, ITIL and lessons learned, with the goal of establishing best in class critical infrastructure sites.

Provides quality coaching, leadership and direction to Data Center Operations (Headend) Technicians and Engineers. Cultivates, pursues and promotes a culture of continued excellence through individual and team growth.

Defines, develops and continually improves upon establishment of operational excellence.

Takes on other duties needed to help drive our Purpose, fulfill our Brand Principles, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with primary study in Business Management, Computer Science, Networking or comparable industry experience.

An equivalent amount of experience in a similar role or function in the telecommunications industry may substitute for the education.

3 years of experience in Infrastructure operations preferred.

3 years of experience within the cable or telecommunications industry preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Must possess an understanding of Continual Process Improvement and Development methodologies and the ability to implement them (e.g. Lean IT, ITIL, Lessons Learned, etc.).

Strong leadership skills, consensus building capability, influencing skills and credibility with other functional areas; demonstrates the ability to lead change in a complex organization.

Position may require up to 30% travel time minimum.
