Under the supervision of Employment Program Manager I, the Employment Program Representative (EPR) provides excellent customer service. Assists customers through the delivery method of self-service, facilitated self-help, and staff-assisted services. Promotes the programs and services offered by the Employment Development Department-Workforce Services (WS) Branch to job seekers, employers, workforce partners, and other community stakeholders. Provides employment services to job seekers and recruitment assistance to employers following prescribed WS policies and procedures. Prepares and makes formal presentations regarding EDD-Workforce Services, benefits and features of CalJOBS, and engages audiences to utilize the America's Job Centers of California as a one-stop for employment and training services. Follows guidance under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Wagner-Peyser Act funded activities. The incumbent will coordinate the EDD outreach efforts with public and private community service agencies and Migrant Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) groups to ensure that farm workers are aware of career services, skill development services and workforce protection services available to them as well as other resources. In addition, the incumbent will visit agricultural employers on behalf of workers; encourage agricultural and non-agricultural workers to visit local office or AJCC site for additional resources and assistance, if needed. Working conditions may consist of working under extreme weather. Works with clients who need intensive or personalized assistance in finding employment. Interview and assess customer’s barriers and develop a course of action. Provides job and career advising during program participation, training, and after job placement.
The position is located in Indio, CA. Must be fluent in Spanish.
The incumbent for this position must be willing and able to work at any of the four given AJCCs within the cluster to include: Blythe, Hemet, and Riverside.
Per the Governor's Office of California, the Employment Development Department is considered an essential department. This position requires local in-person workload, though some telework may be available. This position's office follows the recommended safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Center of Disease Control (CDC).
