PURPOSE:
The Controller will report to the Vice President of Finance & Accounting and will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting activities within the Company. We are looking for a hands-on individual who is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, proactive and will support the growth of Pink Taco’s accounting department along with supporting the opening of new locations. DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES:
- Manage the month-end close process, including the review of monthly journal entries, balance sheet schedules, bank reconciliations, and other related close processes.
- Maintains and controls the general ledger and business transactions of the organization, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Reviews financial results of the restaurants, comparing results with approved budgets and prior year financials.
- Take ownership of all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting process.
- Support finance team in the annual budget process and quarterly budget updates.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly internal financial statements and executive financial packages; perform research and variance analysis.
- Responsible for managing external auditors and tax accountants during year-end financial statement review and annual tax return process.
- Play a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle.
- Oversee banking relationships, ensure efficient treasury operations, and manage day-to-day cash management.
- Maintains fixed asset register for each individual restaurant and prepares monthly capital expenditure reports.
- Responsible for all tax submittals and compliance for local, state, and federal taxes.
- Work cross-functionally with department heads throughout the company.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting and managerial experience, preferably with a restaurant or multi-unit company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Experience with hospitality accounting principles, including revenue recognition, cost control, and inventory management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact with senior executives.
- Oracle Cloud or similar accounting systems experience is preferred.
- Technology forward knowledge with interest in automation opportunities to drive process improvements.
