Job Description
Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist needed to support Clinical dept in leading clinical quality strategies aimed at meeting agency benchmarks for quality and productivity, ensuring proper patient care is being provided in accordance with program contracts. Recent Licensees encouraged to apply. The therapist will collaborate with the Clinical Director in managing ongoing clinical staff development and program planning. Duties include establishing clinical practice protocols, case conferencing, and creating and reviewing treatment plans as needed. This position reports to the Clinical Director.
Important Job Requirements:
1. Support Clinical Manager in Supervising and overseeing all aspects of the clinical operations in alignment with the agency mission and strategic plan.
Measures of Success:
A. Establishes and addresses clinical goals by utilizing a team approach for input and discussion.
B. Makes appropriate adjustments and modification to agency clinical service s to meet community needs.
C. Ensures full compliance with contractual and licensing agreements between agency and local, state, federal entities, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
D. Address and monitor any corrective action plans related to performance of clinical and case management staff.
E. Collaborate with all agency divisions, directors and managers to assure a strong integrated system of care is being provided for patients.
2. Provide clinical guidance to clinical, case management, staff and interns.
Measures of Success:
A. Assist in leading and managing clinical staff through recruitment, retention, mentoring, coaching, and supervision ensuring staff engagement to meet organizational and department clinical goals and objectives. Ensure staff meet ethical standards (Code of Ethics).
B. Providing for clinical and non-clinical supervision of individual and/or group sessions for all licensed providers, case managers, and interns. Maintain documentation of those sessions for audit purposes.
C. Assisting with and leading regular clinical case staffing sessions with behavioral health providers and case managers.
D. Monitors timeframe goals for any staff needing to complete their independent licensing based upon Texas Board of Behavioral Health Licensing requirements.
E. Remain up to date on all required trainings that support clinical supervisor and licensure renewals.
F. Assure timely, professional, and accurate completion of all clinical reporting requirements.
G. Coordinate the peer review process to assure accurate record documentation by staff. Set guidelines for the peer review process and maintain documentation of peer reviews.
H. Support all agency licensing and accreditation processes and direct implementation of clinical behavioral health policies and procedures that support this process.
I. Participate in agency’s Quality Assurance/Improvement Program and assures that program staff are knowledgeable of required QA activities and participates in improvement monitoring specific to clinical performance.
J. Responsible for ensuring proper review and audit of clinical and case management records.
H. Participates in community networking activities
I. Attend local and state healthcare agency meetings to stay informed of provider requirements, community resources, new programs and related supportive trainings. Keep staff informed of updates.
J. Participates in a variety of available trainings related to professional development inclusive of those that support the provision of health promotion and disease prevention activities to the persons served in the program.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The following factors are essential to this position and in order to minimally qualify, applicants must provide evidence that they possess these required factors.
1. Professional knowledge and skills as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, or Counselor.
2. Knowledge of program planning concepts, principles and practices with a focus on building and maintaining a system of integrated care that supports patient needs.
3. Knowledge of requirements for providing clinical program oversight.
4. Knowledge of the cultural, social, and economic background of the diverse populations served and the impact of cultural values and beliefs in their health status.
5. Ability to establish program goals and objectives and to assess programs toward their achievement.
6. Ability to provide clinical advice, guidance, and support to professional staff in areas of specialty.
7. Ability to handle administration of multiple program sites assuring efficiency in service delivery and program communication.
8. Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication. Ability to provide written and oral presentations.
9. Ability to work independently with willingness to take initiative in addressing concerns and issues for desired outcomes.
10.Ability to establish rapport and gain the confidence of the members of the patient care team, clients, and associates.
11.Ability to work independently and take initiative in addressing concerns and issues.
12.Proficient with computer-based applications such as MS Office, Adobe, and electronic health record.
EXPERIENCE AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
1. Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling is required.
2. License in Texas as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor is required.
3. Three + years of related experience in the field of public health or community program development is required.
4. Three years of experience providing clinical supervision to staff is preferred.
5. Experience working with under-served populations is preferred.
6. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, as well as not be found on state or federal Office of Inspector General exclusion list.
7. Must pass any substance abuse screening upon employment, and submit to random testing during the course of employment.
8. Must have and submit to Human resources an up-to-date Immunization (IZ) Record prior to starting employment.
9. Must have a current immunization record and a Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide for annual updates.
10. Must obtain a CPR Card within ninety (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid CPR card during employment. Must have a First Aid card and then maintain updates per agency policy.
11. Must possess knowledge of clinical requirements of both state licensing and regulations.
Industry competitive compensation commensurate with skills, knowledge, and experience.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
