The Oradell Animal Hospital has been providing small animal care for the residents of northern New Jersey and surrounding towns since 1962. Our hospital is located in a highly populated area that provides a clientele committed to quality pet care. We are a full service, AHAA accredited hospital with 60 veterinarians including interns, residents, general practitioners and board certified specialists in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery/Anesthesia, Exotics, Nutrition, ABVP, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Radiology, Neurology, and Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. Our 24-hour facility has a very busy emergency service, which provides a full and interesting caseload.
We are looking for motivated, responsible, experienced technician to work in our exotics department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing exceptional care to our exotic patients and continuous service to clinicians and clients. As a core member of the veterinary medical team, this person will work closely with the Exotics Specialist and other staff members to carry out the care and treatment of patients, as well as customer service to our clients. Assisting the exotics specialist with their daily in hospital cases, procedures and appointments. Will be relied upon to provide client communication, answering the message center, returning phone calls, pharmacy orders, assisting with the doctor as needed in all client communications; preparing and assisting with patient exams, handling and monitoring patients and monitoring equipment; nursing care and completion of treatment orders; accurate record keeping, (administration of injectable and inhalant anesthetics +/- as trained). The exotics assistant/technician is also responsible for cleanliness, hygiene and stocking of the clinical areas, and any other duties as assigned by the Patient Service Supervisors and/or Manager that is appropriate for this position. They are expected to maintain the standards of care, and adhere to protocols established within the hospital. Additionally, will be expected to uphold the values and mission of the Oradell Animal Hospital through training and professional enhancement of skills and knowledge.
