Job Summary
Gulliver Prep’s Upper School Campus is seeking a dynamic Dance Faculty to join our team of professionals for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The qualified applicant will be responsible for the Upper School Dance Program that includes managing the logistics of the program, organizing rehearsals, performances and competitions. The qualified applicant must be able to teach in different styles of dance including ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and hip-hop as well as instruction in dance history and choreography techniques.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for the IB Dance Program. Specific responsibilities include:

Execute dance curriculum in the classroom.

Maintain class websites and gradebooks.

Maintain positive communications with dancers, parents and administration.

Support dancers’ successful transitions into college programs.

Conduct technical and dress rehearsals prior to performances.
The Dance Faculty will work with the Dance Team Coach in the organization of all trips, local and statewide, along with overseeing the dance budget & expenditures. Candidates should be excited to choreograph and prepare our students for these large performances as well as for smaller performances and competitions.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, Dance Education, Education or related field.

Previous Dance Program Director experience.

Trained dancer with performance experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrate exceptional skills related to Dance Performances and has experience accompanying students.

Must be able to follow through on all assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision.

Must be able to collaborate with other departments to meet the needs of the dance program.

Must have excellent communication and writing skills.

Must be available to work after school and some weekends.

Innovative thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to demonstrate these skills to students.
