Position Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maximizing safety, quality, and productivity in the daily maintenance of plant equipment. This role focuses on driving continuous improvements in equipment availability and throughput through effective maintenance engineering activities.
Essential Functions:
- Design and implement safety modifications and improvements for equipment and facilities.
- Safety Investigations: Conduct safety investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, document, and enhance preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment availability and throughput.
- Develop, document, and enhance predictive maintenance programs using techniques such as vibration analysis and thermographic imaging.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures to minimize downtime and production loss. Offer "on call" support as needed.
- production delay data to establish, document, or modify preventive maintenance tasks. Generate continuous improvement projects based on this data.
- Prepare and review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports, determine corrective actions, and assess their impact on preventive maintenance programs.
- Cost Justifications: Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
- Create work orders for improvement projects or corrective actions and ensure proper completion through follow-up and audits.
- Coordinate external contractor activities with maintenance and production personnel to minimize cost and production impacts.
- Conduct critical spare parts assessments and standardize parts.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, training programs, and skill development initiatives for all personnel.
- Establish and install performance metrics to promote long-term continuous improvement consistent with departmental objectives.
- Facilitate faster problem resolution and improve working relationships.
- Perform project engineering duties and fill in for Supervisors or Department Managers as required.
Qualifications:
- Leadership Ability: Proven ability to provide effective leadership.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and training in engineering and maintenance.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in the production of forged or flat-rolled metal products.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with traits such as action-oriented, conflict management, decision-making, active listening, time management, and a positive attitude.
- Facilitation Roles: Capable of fulfilling roles such as facilitator, coach, mentor, counselor, and communicator.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks and other computer skills, with the ability to advance these skills as required.
Education and Experience:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Training/Experience: Formal training or experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience: Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor position is preferred.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
