Senior Piping Estimator
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, project management, and cost control. As a Senior Piping Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate estimates, and ensuring projects are completed within budget constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project documents to understand the scope of work.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gather necessary information.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from project drawings and specifications.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing, ensuring conformance to bid documents.
- Recommend adjustments to labor factors based on project complexity and timelines.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure comprehensive bid preparation.
- Participate in post-bid de-scope meetings and project turnover meetings to the project management team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a piping estimator in the industrial, manufacturing, and/or food/beverage sectors.
- Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software and tools for accurate quantity take-offs.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Relevant certifications in estimating or project management are a plus.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in industrial piping estimation.
- Hands-on experience with industrial piping systems is highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with occasional site visits.
- Standard working hours with potential for overtime during project deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
