Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Vice-President of Finance for our Global housing organization. Reporting to the Chief Administrative & Financial Officer, the VP Finance partners closely with other senior leaders to drive and seek improvements in operational processes and works closely with Chief Admin & Financial Officer on budgets and revenue estimates, reports regularly to the President and CEO on financial performance, supervises finance and operations staff, manages relationships with outside counsel, financial advisors, banks, audit firm and government payors. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting and financial aspects of the organization including the creation and establishment of financial policies and procedures as well as internal controls.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise the Chief Executive Office, Chief Admin & Financial Officer, and other Senior Leaders, etc. regarding the financial operations of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI).
- Work with HFHI Area Offices, division, and leadership to coordinate the annual financial and capital plan for each Area Office/division, including the development of strategic business plans and analyzing year over year trends and variances analysis to operating & capital plans.
- Direct and oversees the development and implementation of the annual budget, including appropriate analysis of issues affecting revenue and/or expenditures, preparation of long-range budget forecasts, administration of budget process, and recommend budget amendments as necessary through the course of each fiscal year.
- Create, implement, and make recommendations for new and/or revised policies related to HFHI finances and financial administrative services.
- Establish and maintain an internal control system to ensure that financial transactions are based upon established procedures as required by the United States government, the State of Georgia, HFHI auditors and Board of Trustees’ policies and procedures.
- Oversee the development and preparation of all monthly and annual financial reports for the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Admin & Financial Officer and the Board of Trustees and other reports as required. Present and discuss monthly financial statements at board meetings.
- Manage all aspects of the annual financial audit and will ensure unqualified year-end audit; take appropriate action to address audit findings and recommendations.
- Ensure financial systems are established and maintained in order to provide appropriate controls in accordance with HFHI ‘s policies, procedures and standard; supervises the maintenance of accounting systems and data, and the presentation of financial data; ensures financial systems are integrated (i.e. PeopleSoft, Navision, Heritage) and accurate information provided to management and end-users.
- Manage finance functions including payroll, treasury, audit, PF&A/Board package.
- Build and develop team to achieve “best in class” performance through continued process improvement, automation, and simplification.
- Manage one very highly complex area with many IBOD level issues, performance reviews; manage project budgets and departmental budgets.
- Drive operational controllership across the business, maintaining rigor around operating metrics.
- Design and manage purchasing and inventory systems, coordinate, report and assist with evaluating HFHI’s fiscal stability.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree. MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 15 plus years including 10 plus years’ of management responsibilities, international financial management facilities management
- CPA designation
- Demonstrable alignment with the mission and vision of HFHI
- Strong Supervisory Skills
- Proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proven ability to lead significant change management in the organization
- Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment
- Excellent working knowledge of specific area; overall knowledge of International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGO) industry; global finance management experience, grants management and financial compliance
- Ability to influence senior management and provide information for strategy planning and daily operations.
- Ability to provide appropriate communication to all who need to know and to the organization
- Ability to provide financial analysis and planning; monthly, quarterly, annual, and triannual planning and report findings to Senior Leadership
- Strong knowledge of ERP processes, automation and change management
- Strong knowledge of FP and A
- Knowledge of mortgage (CDFI) concepts and international investment funds

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance.
For work locations in the US, the target hiring range for this position is $191,250 to $213,750. The salary range for this position is between $180,000-$270,000 per year.
