Summary
This position will work closely with the Sr. Systems Administrator to help support and protect our internal network and server infrastructure. Will work with the Sr. Systems Administrator to provide Active Directory and Help Desk support, including providing technical assistance to staff with computer systems, hardware, and software issues. Respond to outages, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions to ongoing issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Sr. Systems Administrator to maintain, monitor, and protect Firefly’s network
- Assist with the Firefly Help Desk
Job Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain the operating systems and software on servers and network equipment
- Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive internal processes and procedures
- Manage physical hardware inventory in the IT asset system
- Work with employees seeking technical assistance
- Assist in monitoring of and responding quickly to requests received through the IT ticketing system
- Direct significant or unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Set up and manage domain accounts, Microsoft 365 user and email accounts, authorized local and remote access security, and other software licenses
- Record and maintain passwords in the company password vault
- Directly or remotely access employee computers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, including installing or updating software and computer components
- Restore files and directories as necessary
- Administer company telephone services
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Experience with Unifi networks and pfSense firewalls and VPNs (or similar systems)
- Understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft networking, and Microsoft 365
- Experience with virtualization software (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- An openness to learning modern technologies (i.e., having the willingness to learn)
- Proven experience in a customer support role
- Must have a strong work ethic
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
- Must be well organized, a self-starter, and be able to follow detailed instructions
- Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve basic technical issues
- Must be able to work with precision and an elevated level of accuracy
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, dependable and able to focus on task at hand

- Tech savvy with working knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices, office automation products, remote control, and other tech products
- Ability to speak and write English fluently and communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
- Scripting knowledge is a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
