Title: Captive Operations Data Analyst

Position Description:
The Data Analyst will focus on comprehensively design, deliver, and execute analytics and insights to drive business decisions and new strategies. This role involves utilizing internal data sources, market data, industry expertise, and knowledge to facilitate analytics to support its captive operations.
Primary Responsibilities: (consists of but not limited to)
- Establish and oversee appropriate statistical plans, analytical tools, and requirements for analyzing the experience of various claims reserves, and catastrophe losses.
- Participate in short term and long-term planning activities and assist in setting objectives for these plans by making forecasts and projections and developing strategies to support the company financial and market goals in the areas of product development, pricing, catastrophe management, reinsurance, modeling, or reserving.
- Utilize analytics for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management to develop new products, project future results, reprice existing products, and/or determine financial strength. May make adjustments and improvements to models, when appropriate.
- Creatively approach problems and issues from a wide range of perspectives to determine innovative techniques.
- Assist in performing highly complex analysis/design, coding and testing in support of project responsibilities.
- Assist in developing and managing requirements to deliver agile business changes, exceptional member experiences, and/or integrated solutions.
- Provide data to other departments; useful for their management purposes, from actuarial data.
- Work with outside independent actuary on year end and quarterly analysis.
- Identify data requirements for analysis, tool development, reporting, and decision-making.
- Work with software department to support the development of various tracking metrics.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Consult with assigned business lines to gather requirements, analyze information, and report insights in a clear, understandable, and actionable way.
- Manage projects to ensure timely delivery of products and services to eCaptiv and members.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Statistics or related field. At least one year of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance or reinsurance experience.
- Experience developing and executing business intelligence roadmaps for stakeholders.
- Experience in Business Analysis, gathering test requirements, writing user test stories, building acceptance and success criteria, leading grooming meetings.
- Thorough understanding of business, functional and technical aspects for applications assigned portfolio.
- Thorough understanding of application landscape (e.g. application architecture, physical and logical deployment, interfaces, dependencies) for applications in assigned portfolio.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in developing data visualization techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products, including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Work from Home Setup:
- An internet connection, via cable or fiber, that can support 300Mbps down and 10Mbps up. A wired (Ethernet) connection to the internet is preferred for best performance.
- A workstation, desk, or table that is ergonomically suitable for the employee’s physical needs, (standing, sitting, etc.). This workspace must support two, 24” displays, a laptop, docking station, keyboard, and mouse, at minimum.
Teleworkers must be reachable while teleworking during the employee’s regularly scheduled hours. Methods of communication include email account, voice calls, and messages using company-issued iPhone, Microsoft Office Teams, and other appropriate department tools and equipment. It is expected that teleworkers will attend all virtual scheduled meetings with their cameras on as much as possible. Additionally, any calls and/or voicemails will be answered in a timely manner.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
