The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will be the clinical leader for the Critical Care Unit for the hospital. The Critical Care CNS will have the advanced knowledge and skills required for this role including clinical expertise in a focus area, evidence-based practice, mentoring, consultation, collaboration, education, and transformational/change leadership that are essential to advance the practice of nursing and the professional development of nurses.
The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will have specialized knowledge and skills that will be used within three major areas of focus: patient direct care, nurses and nursing practice, and the organization and systems. The Critical Care CNS will be accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies.
The CNS will work closely with the ICU Nurse Manager and work alongside very reputable and well-respected physicians in the department. The Critical Care CNS will report to the VP of Patient Services and the Director of Critical Care Services.
