About the Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to design mechanical engineering concepts and options that align with the vision of our clients for each project. You will have a strong understanding of the consulting engineering process and the contractual documents involved.
Responsibilities
- Define the scope of assigned projects and use software programs to create designs for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems
- Create cost-effective system layouts, determine quantities and sizes, and ensure code compliance
- Prepare and layout BIM drawings, coordinating with other disciplines throughout the project production phases
- Perform construction administration tasks such as site observations, shop drawing review, and punch list preparation
- Ensure project scope is accurately reflected in contract documents and manage any variations to ensure client satisfaction and project success
- Maintain strong relationships and communication with clients, partners, architects, owners, and other professionals
- Mentor less experienced mechanical designers
- Assist with miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering design for commercial buildings, preferably in aviation, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, or governmental facilities
- Experience in plumbing and fire protection engineering design is a plus
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
- At least 2 years of experience coordinating with multi-discipline engineering teams
- Experience with various project deliverable methods including design-build, design-bid-construct, and fast-track
- Knowledge of local, state, and national codes and regulations
- Proficiency in Revit MEP is required, along with familiarity with other engineering software programs
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, and web applications
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to prepare specifications and evaluate electrical engineering options
- Experienced with cost containment and reduction approaches

Physical Requirements
