SUMMARY
Townhouse Restaurant in the heart of the financial district has been a lively spot serving business clientele, convention business and opera goers since 2006.
We are currently seeking an energetic, guest service driven General Manager skilled and qualified in all aspects of restaurants & hospitality. This person should be widely experienced in FOH and proficient with BOH. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to dive in and be hands on. We have high expectations and hope you do too.
PERK ALERT: The GM of Townhouse will work primarily a Monday-Friday schedule with minimal late nights and holidays off. We open occasionally on Saturday's for Private events.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 years management experience in an upscale hospitality environment with a strong background in both bar and serving.
- Proficiency in using MS office software, Opentable, and POS systems. You will count, track and monitor inventory, manage costs & labor, manage financial reporting and record keeping, manage reservations, manage logistics & set up for events, read and respond to reviews, be the lead on repair and maintenance communications in addition to performing other administrative and record keeping tasks.
- Basset certified
- IL approved food handlers card, ServSafe Manager certification preferred but not required
- TOAST pos experience preferred but not required
- Experience with Opentable reservation systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to effectively listen and communicate with staff and guests
- Ability to delegate and multi-task
- Ability to effectively communicate with Ownership, Operations Director, Management Team members and all hourly staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must have working knowledge of guest service and recovery, LBW inventory, purchasing, labor control, hiring practices, staff training and development, end of night reporting, cash reconciliation, adherence to daily operational duties and sanitation standards. Experienced in ensuring new products and menu are executed properly following roll-out. Must have the ability to foresee, identify, and resolve any potential issues or problems throughout the shift. Flexible in dealing with changes/problems (e.g., being short staffed). Must have strong organizational skills. Must coach and work with restaurant staff to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures. Strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance. Must have ability to work with different personality types and give constructive feedback to personnel.
The General Manager will receive formal events information from the Event Coordinator, and is responsible for ensuring proper set-up, menus, food, and event details are followed and guests are satisfied.
