What We Are Looking For
Product Labeling Engineering Technician (contract) within the Technical Services organization, reporting to the Director of the Global Labeling Engineering group. The Global Labeling Engineering group designs, develops, and supports product labeling for the full lifecycle of clients products. Contribute your hands-on skills and attention to detail to a dynamic team committed to supporting Clients rapid growth with robust and well-supported labeling business process and manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform formal label verification ensuring that new and updated label designs meet product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Supports the team to produce high-quality, consistent verification documents that adhere to clients design control procedures.
- Procure, assemble, bring up, validate, troubleshoot, and support manufacturing equipment used to create direct-mark and package labels for clients products. Equipment includes laser markers, thermal-transfer label printers, color inkjet label printers, and integrated Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) packaging/labeling systems (Multivac, Shawpak).
- Maintain, support, and continuously improve clients Labeling Lab facility.
- Closely follow documented assembly and test processes.
- Conduct troubleshooting of issues related to labeling equipment, business systems, and networks.
- Support experiments lead by Engineering. Document test results using paper and electronic means (Word, Excel, SAP).
- Perform SAP transactions related to manufacturing.
- Work with Engineering to improve methods and procedures.
- Follow all corporate, safety, and production procedures and regulations.
- Other assignments as requested.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Able to read basic system diagrams and documentation.
- Experience with industry-standard labeling systems a plus.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and fix problems with manufacturing equipment and computer networks.
- Passion for learning. High energy.
- Works well in teams. Excellent collaboration skills.
Key Position Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. AA or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Requires 3+ years of related experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Previous experience with SAP (or other ERP system) and Agile (or other document control systems) a plus.
- Previous experience with ALM tools such as Polarian a plus, including updating test protocols, tracing requirements to test cases, generating trace reports, executing protocols, and generating verification reports.
- Ability to travel up to 10% within the US and internationally.
