Job Summary
A hospital based in San Francisco, California has an RN Case Manager position available. Shift schedule is full-time, 5 days, 8-hours per day. Length of project for the RN Case Manager is 13 weeks with the possibility of extension.
The RN Case Manager must have:
- Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary care planning, nursing scope of practice, and problem-solving
- Knowledge and understanding of intensity of service, severity of illness, opportunities for intervention, planned course of treatment/procedures, care needs, and outcome goals; understanding of the role of payors and providers, the need for cost containment and the effect of appropriate resource utilization
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to coordinate patient services in diagnosis based groups to assure appropriate utilization of health care resources, increase team activity to identify and implement utilization refinement, improve patient and physician satisfaction, and increase physician awareness of the impact of inappropriate utilization of resources and the need for collaboration and compliance with hospital expectations
- Extremely high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to interact effectively with all internal and external customers.
Job Qualification for RN Case Manager
- Required - Active CA RN License
- Preferred - Minimum 2 year of hospital RN Case Management experience
- Required - (3) years in acute medical/surgical/ED/ or critical care nursing
- Required - BSN
- Preferred - MSN
