JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sourcing Analyst - Buyer role manages mid to high-level procurement projects and ensures the completion of sourcing activities related to regional and global projects. This role also independently develops, implements, and drives Category/Sub Category as well as Supplier Strategies. The Strategic Buyer is responsible for the commercial performance of the assigned category, including new and existing products/part numbers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regional Responsibilities
- Responsible for the execution of procurement activities related to the Plant and Projects (Savings, Development) for all parts within assigned categories and suppliers, including but not limited to:
- RFQs, Price Negotiations, Price changes, Savings Projects, ECNs
- Participation target price settings
- Point of escalation for Planning/Scheduling in regards to capacity issues during series production (see escalation model)
- Considers inventory level and collaborates with Planning/Scheduling for appropriate commercial solutions
- Verification of quotes related to technical and commercial aspects, negotiation of final pricing, and the preparation of quote comparison/summary and presentation of sourcing proposals to the SNC (Supplier Nomination Committee)
- Issue POs for pre-production demand and tooling
Strategic
- Execution of implementation activities related to global Category Strategy
- Responsible for the development and execution of a global Category Strategy including but not limited to:
- Selection of strategic suppliers and communication with Regional Teams
- Risk analysis related to supplier and overall strategy (e.g., financial, geo-political, capacity, etc.)
- Analysis of purchase volumes within the category under consideration for Cost and Supplier Reductions, Synergies within or across commodities
- Contract and price negotiations considering longer-term engagements
- Achieve best-in-class cost for material within the category considering technical, quality, and logistic requirements
- Understand current and future technologies and production methods and drive communication internally/externally
- Supply Chain Development to support regional and global requirements for existing and future WN plants
- Develop a market overview related to category, supplier, and competition
- Realization of cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with the regional teams.
- Ensure adequate capacity at the selected supplier and be the point of escalation for capacity issues during series production
- Execute contract management and negotiate all commercial-related contracts (e.g., Long Term Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Quality Agreements, etc.)
- Use of Total Cost of Ownership Models for Series production material and secure cost reductions within Category
- Execute price negotiations and ensure price coverage for production materials
- Requests should cost calculations from value engineering and collaborate on the development of 'should cost' models
- Implements standard terms for assigned suppliers based on Corporate direction
- Generation of the Cost Savings Ideas and reporting

REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Preferred Qualifications
- NOT a MUST HAVE but would be great to have - Fluent in Mandarin (as well as reading/writing skills) & English
- ISM or APICS certification(s)
- Prior use of SAP
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Production/Operations Management or a related business program is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a procurement/sourcing role within a manufacturing environment is required; five (5) years of experience is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems within a manufacturing environment and an understanding of the planning and execution process in the system is required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated results through negotiation.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 25% globally on short notice.

Up to 10% of time is spent in manufacturing environments around industrial equipment. Able to travel up to 25% of the time, sometimes internationally.
