Technical Business Analyst
Reporting to: Director of Planning & Design
Direct reports to this position: None
The Technical Business Analyst is an analytical thinker, responsible for translating business requirements into detailed requirements that can be implemented by software engineers. As the Business Analyst you will work with the product owner, customer, project management, development, and QA teams to create wireframes and other mock-ups to capture customer requirements. You will be responsible for documenting requirements, as part of the contracting and development phases of our software development projects. You will also be responsible for creation and maintenance of product release notes, functional capabilities documentation and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities: (This list is not exhaustive; additional duties may be required)
- Solicit and capture system requirements from customers and stakeholders
- Evaluate customer requests in the context of existing platform capabilities
- Serve as a liaison between clients and system developers to communicate client needs to a technical team
- Work with product owners to define solutions for required product features, eliciting and documenting requirements, performing required impact/workflow analysis (use cases, UML diagramming, etc.)
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure the functional and user design of the systems before and during development
- Create other relevant artifacts, including but not limited to, user stories/use cases, wireframes, flowcharts, screen mockups, process flow documents, and data flow diagrams
- Work with the QA team to ensure project requirements were satisfied
- Create and maintain end user documentation
What you’ll bring to the table:
· BS/BA in business, technical writing or a related discipline
· A minimum of 3 years of similar professional experience
· Experience writing specifications and/or user stories utilizing graphical UI concepts and process maps that are clear, concise and well organized
· Uncommonly organized with the ability to monitor/manage a million tasks while making it look easy
· Experience working with external clients – facilitating discussions, hosting meetings and communicating regularly
· Skilled at working independently and proactively
· The ability to think on your feet, remove roadblocks, solve problems and be creative in a fast-paced environment
· Skilled in modern office apps and project software
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
