Position Summary:
The Web Specialist will join the California Lawyers Association (CLA) Web Team and work closely with the Marketing Team. The Web and Marketing teams coordinate with CLA staff to achieve Section and CLA content and marketing objectives. Under general supervision, the Web Specialist will perform a wide range of tasks, but the primary day-to-day tasks will consist of managing content on the CLA website, creating email campaigns, and supporting staff with general functions in our member data, eMarketing, events, and online community systems.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit copy for websites and email campaigns
- Update web pages while ensuring content is presented in a clear format
- Respond to requests from internal staff related to web content or email marketing
- Create email campaigns for announcements, event marketing, membership marketing, e-newsletters, and case alerts
- Coordinate email marketing efforts for events such as conferences and webinars
- Create online forms using software such as Google Forms, Microsoft Forms, or Survey Monkey
- Assist with the production of marketing materials and assets
- Provide administrative and project support as it relates to website and email marketing efforts for a variety of association programs
- Collect data and create reports related to membership data, email marketing, and web traffic
- Assist other team members by testing for bugs, checking web links, proofreading, and other related miscellaneous tasks
- Assist with the production of online events and webinars
- Assist with the administration of online communities and listservs
- Perform other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent within the general level of the job and the responsibilities described above
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
- Three years’ experience in a similar role, or equivalent and relevant experience
- Experience working with WordPress CMS
- Strong understanding of HTML and website best practices
- Understanding of W3 Accessibility Standards
- Experience writing copy for websites and email campaigns
- Experience using email marketing software, such as HubSpot
- Experience with graphic software, such as: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to use Microsoft and Google spreadsheet and word processing software
- Excellent writing and English grammar skills
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Very strong customer service orientation
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment
- Problem solving and relationship building skills
Essential Functions:
- On occasion, some overnight travel may be required to support certain association events
