Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant role at Northstar Preschools, a leading childcare platform, will assist with the accounting and finance function and provide support to all team members during every interaction. Under supervision of the Controller, the Sr. Accountant develops and implements systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting with routine day-to-day operational accounting tasks to assist with timely month-end close activities and preparing all monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for accounting for the Company’s revenue and cost of goods sold transactions and appropriately allocating deferral and accrual amounts each month.
- Responsible for all payroll accounting transactions and accruals including reconciliations.
- Responsible for maintaining fixed asset rollforward schedules and recording monthly depreciation entries.
- Responsible for maintaining lease accounting schedules and recording monthly lease entries.
- Responsible for selling, general and administrative transactions and accruals along with working with cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Responsible for daily and monthly cash monitoring including the review of bank statements, ACH and wire transfer documentation, and appropriate approvals.
- Manage credit card maintenance, including statements to card holders, month end emails, limits and cut off.
- Assist with month-end variance analysis and financial statement schedules.
- Additional month-end close responsibilities as assigned. Other balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
- Additional ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Commitment to Northstar Mission and Core Values.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 2 years public accounting or corporate accounting experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computerized ledger systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
