Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a Vascular Technologist for our Olentangy Radiology office located in Columbus, OH. The Vascular Technologists possesses a working knowledge of specific tasks and procedures associated with Ultrasonography. As a trained health care professional, the Vascular Technologist works closely and personably with other Technologists, Physicians, Nursing staff, and Office staff. This is a full-time position working 7:30a-4p Monday- Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Image patients according to protocols and parameters set forth by department policy or by a Radiologist.
- Responsible for explaining procedures to the patients and answering questions as needed.
- Process exams on all completed ultrasound exams. Archive patient exams on PACS system.
- Troubleshoot minor problems that arise with the ultrasound scanner and the PACS system. Seek assistance from appropriate service personnel when necessary.
- Stay current on new protocols, software changes, policies and procedures, and quality assurance requirements.
- Assure ample stock of linen, film supplies, processor supplies and professional supplies.
- Inform patients of delays or equipment repairs that cause excess waiting for the patient. Assist in transporting patients to restroom, patient’s car, or other department whenever necessary.
- Assist Receptionists and Physicians in finding appropriate time slots for routine patients. Act as a backup for team members who are out of the office, both planned and unplanned.
- Participate in continuing education applicable to the field and/or self-improvement. Attend and participate in staff meetings and other miscellaneous mandatory meetings.
- Assist in training new technologists hired by the center.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required: ARDMS Registered
Education, Licensures & Certifications
- Required: Completion of course in Vascular Ultrasound Technology and registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- Required: Current certification as required by law
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently input area for imaging
- Knowledge of equipment, testing, safety, body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of department computer and phone systems.
- Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
- Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
- Ability to take a blood pressure manually at the brachial level
- Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Excellent relationship building skills
