What You'll Do: Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Temporary Billing Specialist is responsible for collecting, inputting, reporting and reconciling billing and other records for the Department of Mental Health (DMH) program.
Duties:

Use internal communication to track admissions and discharges, across all programs, to accurately create and open consumers financial profile in both EHRS and IBHIS.

Review and correct any Medi-Cal eligibility issues and update client EHRS record accordingly.

Responsible for weekly submission of EDI claims to LACDMH, including voids and resubmissions. It is the responsibility of the Analyst to ensure all claims have completed all steps in the Revenue Cycle.

Verify that batches have been submitted properly by performing reconciliation to identify any discrepancies that may have occurred within the batch.

Monitor, analyze, correct and resubmit claims to LACDMH in a prompt and accurate manner.

Reconcile payment report to submitted claims and report variances and issues to CFO. Support in resolving identified discrepancies.

Responsible for responding to claiming inquiries, such as progress note corrections, funding issues and client/program changes.

In collaboration with Program VP, coordinate and prepare reports timely for revenue meetings (and other related meetings). Reports should include pertinent issues, related to but not limited to, LACDMH claiming changes, client issues preventing claim submission, staffing set-up issues and claim exception reporting.
Salary and Benefits:

Pay Range $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience
Requirements:

Two years of billing or claims processing experience (Electronic Health Records systems).

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate's degree or equivalent in general education from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

Preferred experience in Medi-Cal billing and/or experience in billing within the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health contract/s.

Travel to all service areas up to 25% & Driver's licensed required

Los Angeles County DMH Regulations experience required

EDI billing experienced highly preferred

Experience working in EXYM highly preferred

PRM application through DMH highly preferred

SQL certification/experience highly preferred.

Must be detail-oriented, attentive, organized and able to follow directions.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient in computers, including spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel).
