We are seeking someone with a passion for innovation and technology, who possesses experience with mechanical manufacturing and electromechanical design.

Support the propulsion team in next-gen brushless DC motor design, optimization and testing

Develop and oversee automated manufacturing methods for motor, battery, wire-harness, charging systems, and other electro-mechanical aircraft components

CAD and Engineering Drafting of test equipment, jigs, and fixtures

Integration of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems
-
Thermal and mechanical modeling and testing of electric propulsion systems
-
Assist in flight testing both locally and at remote sites (some travel required)

B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering

3+ years experience as a Mechanical Engineer

Keen eye for detail, experience with quality control and manufacturing processes

Proficiency in 3D modeling (CATIA preferred)

Proficiency in 2D documentation and GD&T

Experience in prototype manufacturing in a professional environment

Experience in rigorous scientific methods for testing and troubleshooting

Demonstrate hands-on design, build, and test experience through student teams, co-op, and/or personal projects

Mechatronics-related experience with machine design, testing, and prototyping

Manufacturing background in a factory setting

CFD experience a plus

Knowledge and experience with manufacturing automation, production manufacturing, product lifecycle management, CNC machining, and 3D Printing
