POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; locating the source of problems and observing mechanical devices; removing defective parts and dismantling equipment; determining changes in dimensional requirements; adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, performing routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance; fabricating repair parts; maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventory; and providing mechanical maintenance information and reports. This position will report to the shift supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform basic equipment diagnosis for both electrical & mechanical issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and detect minor equipment problems and correct them before they become major issues.
- Disassemble/reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc. and repair/replace worn or defective parts.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics and pneumatics such as in welding machines and stamping presses.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair ac/dc motors, starters, relays, and drives.
- Install new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance per planned schedules. Clean and lubricate machinery. Inspect equipment operating conditions. Identify root causes of equipment problems.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Must have an understanding and experience in all phases of 110–480-volt system with higher voltage experience preferred.
· Welding experience.
· Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery
· Ability to follow instructions and learn the production process.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Excellent time management skills
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
· Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
· Self-motivated & detail-oriented
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Graduate of an industrial apprenticeship program or 2-year technical school
· Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience or
· 5-years of experience as a maintenance electrician/mechanic in industrial manufacturing facility.
· Knowledge of inventory systems
· Capable of utilizing basic math skills
· Capable of using scan guns and ERP software
· Hilo certified or able to become certified in operating lift equipment.
· Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
· Must have reliable transportation.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
General Safety, HAZCOM, Lockout – Tag-out, Forklift, Macola, Department SOP
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Be able to work in a loud, noisy, and congested environment. May be expose to extreme temperatures hot and cold and dusty areas, work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions, proper protective clothing is required to protect against extreme temperature conditions.
MINIMUM SALARY:
$22.00 - $34.00 per hour - Shift differential will be included for (2nd & 3rd) shift only.
WORKING HOURS:
1stShift 6:00am to 2:30pm
2ndShift 3:00pm to 11:30pm
