Position Overview
The Digital Marketing Assistant will be a critical teammate for the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications with responsibility for managing and executing marketing and membership campaigns that keep the theater’s brand fresh to our existing patrons while attracting new audiences. The position works in close partnership with the Marketing department to utilize industry best practices in digital marketing strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Social Media:

Develop, manage, and execute content strategies for the company’s social media platforms

Develop and maintain a weekly social media schedule as part of the overall marketing calendar

Generate original social media content to drive marketing campaigns

Assist in producing in-house digital video content

Monitor daily press clips and generate content based on press mentions

Respond to inquiries via 2ST platforms

Assist other departments as necessary with social campaigns
Email/Digital Marketing:

Create a monthly newsletter in collaboration with the marketing team

Assist with developing content strategy, key messaging, and drafting content copy for communications pieces for each production and other institutional projects

Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals

Stay up to date with developments in digital and social advertising practices and generate new ideas to engage audiences

Participate in creative discussions with outside advertising agency

Perform other duties as assigned, including helping with marketing events and some nights and weekend work.

Manage company’s website using the backend CMS including building new web pages and maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.

Act as the primary contact with our website developer to make larger scale updates.

Work with other departments to make adjustments/updates as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of digital marketing experience, preferably in the performing arts

Passion for theater; you know what is happening in the NY theater scene

Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and ability to work in teams and communicate a coherent vision to a group while also incorporating feedback on those ideas is essential

Robust knowledge of all social media platforms, current trends, and best practices

Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment under deadlines

Working knowledge of:

Facebook Creator Studio to draft, schedule, and post to Instagram & Facebook

Instagram Insights to derive analytical reporting Understanding of best content practices (Instagram Reels, etc)

Email management service (preferably Wordlfy) desired but not necessary

Ability or interest in learning to edit, design, and copywrite in the Wordfly system

Work Environment
Time will be spent in an office with quiet to moderate noise level and occasionally in the theatre with often loud and amplified noises. The office environment requires using the computer, phone, and other routine office equipment. Majority of the work will be performed inside at room temperature.
Physical Requirements
Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office, employee is required to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment.
Hours of Work
Second Stage’s working hours are 10 AM to 6 PM. Hours may also include nights and weekends, as assigned.
