SUMMARY:
The HR Assistant helps with the overall day-to-day administration of the Human Resources Department. The HR Assistant is responsible for the HR phone and all incoming mail. The HR Assistant supports the HR Director and Employee Relations Director with scheduling meeting and investigation interviews.
Essential Functions:
- Answers HR phone and routes the request to the appropriate person.
- Sorts and distributes all incoming HR mail.
- Sends mail and faxes for the HR Department.
- Gathers investigation documentation from the company’s HRIS system as requested by Employee Relations Director.
- Coordinate meetings and investigation interviews for the HR Director and Employee Relations Director.
- Filing workers compensation first report of injury claims with the insurance carrier.
- Assists with maintaining employee files and records in the company’s HRIS system
- Responsible for updating organizational charts, staff directories, and job descriptions, as needed.
- Reconciles expense reports and invoices for the department
- Assists as needed with the execution of department processes and audits
- Special projects as assigned by the HR Director or Employee Relations Director.
- Performs other duties as required from time to time.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior Human Resources experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
