Job Description: Responsible for installing and service electrical systems, observing company safety guidelines, documenting each project, and updating client records, providing material cost and time estimates, and training apprentices. Diagnose electrical faults and provide excellent customer service. To be successful as a master electrician, you should be able to read blueprints, use diagnostic tools, and make decisions under pressure. Outstanding master electricians have sound knowledge of their craft and the ability to transfer this knowledge and skill to apprentices.
Role and Responsibilities:
· This position requires advanced knowledge and skills for construction, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting on most standard electrical projects. Responsible for running a truck and crew as well as caring for all associated equipment and tools.
· Quality of work completed by Odessa Technicians and Facility.
· This position will work with Sr. Ops. Manager to ensure our technicians are trained, have the correct tools, and knowledge to complete quality work.
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and industrial equipment such as motors, starters. Relays, solid state circuitry electro-mechanical components. AC, and DC solid state drives.
· Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams. Code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
Fabricate, install and/or run conduit, 3-Phase work, and motor terminations. Control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
· Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
· Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity and current. voltage and resistance.
· Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
· Test and install electrical motors, generators, and pneumatic electrical control systems
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
· Install electrical circuits and equipment including panels, conduit. Protective devices. switches, and related equipment as required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Possession of a current Texas Master Electrician License.
· Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
· Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
· Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
· Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
· Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below.
· Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
· Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.
· Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
· Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.
· Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
· Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
· Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
